Who Are They? Celebrities Born in 1932

Well, let me tell ya, 1932 was a pretty darn long time ago, back when things were real different. But, you know, some famous folks popped outta their mamas that year, and they sure did make a mark. Let’s jaw about some of ’em, alright?

First off, there’s this Johnny Cash fella. Yeah, the “Man in Black” himself. Born in 1932, he was. My grandpappy used to listen to his tunes on that old radio, all crackly and whatnot. Johnny, he sang about hard times and love and all that good stuff. He wasn’t no fancy pants, just a regular fella with a guitar and a voice that could shake the rafters. He sang until he passed on in 2003, Lord rest his soul. A real good man, that Johnny Cash.

Then there was Elizabeth Taylor. Now, she was a looker, that one. A real movie star. Eyes like the sky on a summer day, they said. She was in all them pictures, folks goin’ crazy for her. Lived a long life, she did, until 2011. Heard she had her share of troubles, just like the rest of us, but she always held her head high. A real strong woman, that Elizabeth Taylor.

  • And don’t forget Tiny Tim! That fella was somethin’ else! Singin’ with that high-pitched voice and strummin’ that ukulele. He was a character, alright. Always made folks smile, even when they didn’t know what to make of him. He passed away in 1996. A real one-of-a-kind, that Tiny Tim.
  • Then there’s Pat Morita. You know, Mr. Miyagi from that Karate Kid movie. Yeah, him. Born in ‘32 too. He taught that young fella how to wax on and wax off, and all that karate stuff. A good actor, that Pat Morita. Always brought a smile to my face. He passed in 2005. Real shame.
  • And get this, Debbie Reynolds, another big movie star, she was born in ’32 too. Singing and dancing, she was always full of energy, like a firecracker. She was in a bunch of them musicals. And that Petula Clark, always singin’ happy songs. She was English, I think. Good singer, she was. And John Williams, the fella who wrote all that music for the movies. You know, them space wars and other big films. He’s still kicking around, I heard. Talented fella, that John Williams, makin’ all that music.
  • Oh, and there’s Peter O’Toole too. Now, he was a real classy actor. Real smooth talker, he was. I saw him in a movie once. Can’t remember what it was called, but he was good in it. He passed away in 2013. Another good one gone. And let’s not forget Miriam Makeba. She was from Africa and sang beautiful songs. A real powerful voice she had. She passed away in 2008. She fought for what she believed in, that Miriam.

So, you see, 1932, it was a year for the stars, alright? All sorts of folks born that year, singers and actors, makin’ the world a little brighter, a little louder, a little more interesting. They lived through a whole heap of history, these folks. Wars and changes and all sorts. They left their mark on the world, that’s for sure. Makes you think, don’t it? What kinda folks are bein’ born today that’ll be remembered eighty, ninety years from now? Makes ya wonder.

Anyways, those are just some of the famous people born in 1932. There’s probably a whole bunch more, but these are the ones I remember hearin’ about. It’s important to remember these folks, ya know? They made the world a little more interestin’. They sang and danced and acted and made us laugh and cry. They lived good lives, mostly, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of. I reckon their stories are worth tellin’.

So next time you hear one of them Johnny Cash songs or see an old Elizabeth Taylor movie, you remember, they were born in 1932. A long time ago, but not so long ago that we can’t remember ’em.
